The city of Burnet encompasses about six square miles, has a population of nearly 6,000 people and is located west of Round Rock / Georgetown on Highway 29 and north of Marble Falls on Highway 281. Visitors and residents alike enjoy the Historic Burnet Square, Fort Croghan Museum and Grounds and the Highland Lakes Air Museum. There are also lots of outdoor recreation opportunities in and around Burnet including Highland Lakes, Longhorn Cavern and State Park, the Vanishing Texas River Cruise, Hamilton Creek Park, the Texas Wine Trail and Delaware Springs Golf Course.
