In 1972 two Austin police officers helped some families in need by providing food and gifts over the holidays. Over the years this became a tradition for the Austin Police Department, growing with help from the Austin Fire Department, Texas National Guard, other city departments, businesses and of course the generous community. Today Operation Blue Santa, a non-profit organization, provides a holiday meal and gifts for children under 14 to over 3,800 Austin area families!
There are many ways for you to help, including dropping unwrapped gifts to one of the many drop off locations around town. Volunteers are needed Saturday, December 14th to help with deliveries.
